Summer weather here is often unpredictable, so we encourage our guests to call and book a cruise before their arrival in SWFLA. We will call/text 24 hours prior to your cruise in order to plan for and adjust the time of your cruise to ensure a fun and safe experience.

What does the Sunset Cruise entail?

The Sunset Cruise departs the dock and sails through Johnson Bay (part of Rookery Bay Preserve). The Captain conducts a nature talk on the estuary and the wildlife that inhabits the area. As the boat sails into the Gulf of Mexico, dolphins are often observed. As the sun sets to the West, the Captain will slow the boat and take a photo of the guests. Some appropriate boat music is put on the speakers or the guests can just "Feel the Silence" of the sea and sunset.

The sunset cruise is very popular with couples

Sea Star Sailing offers the ONLY private sailing cruises in the Naples/Marco area!

SHELLING CRUISE NAPLES FL
SHELLING CRUISE MARCO ISLAND FL
What do guests do on the Shelling Cruise?

S/V Into the Mystic departs the dock and sails through Johnson Bay. On the way, the Captain explains the history of the local flora and fauna. Birds are spotted and dolphins too! The boat heads to either Tiger Tail Beach or Keewaydin Island (depending on the level of the tide and wind direction). At the beach, the Captain brings the boat into shallow water (Mystic can sail in 3 feet of water). There is an open transom & ladder at the stern of the boat. He gives each passenger a shelling bag and cold drink and points out the best shelling areas (depending on tide, previous frontal systems, etc). Passengers are free to walk and shell the beach, look at birds or go for a swim. Sometimes passengers are surprised by dolphins swimming close to the beach or a manatee surfacing near the boat. After shelling, the Captain assists passengers back aboard and S/V Into the Mystic heads out for a sail in the Gulf of Mexico, before returning to the dock in Johnson Bay.
